A well-balanced 12-year-old whisky cask from Tamnavulin, originally distilled in December 2013 and reracked into a 1st fill Oloroso sherry hogshead in December 2024. This late-stage sherry reracking has been chosen to enhance depth, colour, and richness while preserving the distillery’s naturally soft and approachable spirit character.
Tamnavulin’s malt is known for its gentle, honeyed style, making it particularly well-suited to sherry finishing. The fresh Oloroso wood is now actively shaping the whisky, introducing layers of dried fruit, spice, and toasted oak while maintaining balance and drinkability rather than overwhelming the spirit.
At 57.8% current cask strength, the whisky retains excellent energy and structure. With a solid remaining volume and a very recent sherry intervention, this cask offers flexibility: it can be bottled after a shorter finishing period or allowed further time to deepen and integrate.

The cask remains in a secure Scottish bonded warehouse in Perthshire. Ownership is transferred via Delivery Order after purchase (approx. 4–14 days).
You may bottle immediately or continue maturation.

How long does the warehouse transfer take?
Transfers typically take 4–14 days, depending on the Delivery Order processing schedule. Once complete, the warehouse will confirm the cask is registered in your name.
Can I request a sample?
Samples are not available pre-purchase. After ownership transfers, the warehouse can provide 200ml or 700ml samples at cost price.
Can I bottle the cask?
Yes, and the warehouse provides this service directly. All casks we list are suitable for bottling, and you may bottle immediately or continue maturation. Bottling costs, excise duty and shipping are arranged separately.
Can I continue ageing the whisky?
Yes. You may leave the cask in the warehouse for long-term maturation. The warehouse will invoice you annually for storage and insurance.
How much does warehouse storage cost?
Storage and standard insurance are usually around £100 per year. Additional insurance can be taken out if required.
Can I visit the warehouse?
Yes, the warehouses allows visits by appointment after purchase. We can support you in arranging this once the cask is in your name.
Do I need a UK address to buy a cask?
No. Buyers worldwide can own casks stored in Scotland. The whisky must remain in bonded storage until bottled or transferred to another bonded site.
